Terra Cotta

The Hamlet of Terra Cotta is located between the Town of Caledon and the Town of Halton Hills.  It is just a few miles from the Village of Glen Williams and yet conveniently close to the city of Brampton.  The Credit River meanders by this quaint village and the properties abutting the rivers edge are absolutely breathtaking.  This farming community was established in the 1850's but did not become known as Terra Cotta until 1891.   Many of the original homes are still standing and have been updated over the years retaining much of their original charm and character.  The north end of Terra Cotta is home to some newer estate homes know as. On the main street of Terra Cotta you will find the Terra Cotta Inn which has a pub and patio as well as a fine dining restaurant, the Terra Cotta General Store as well as a river front park and pavilion.  If you head north on Winston Churchill Blvd., you will find the Terra Cotta Conservation Area, which is situated on approximately 485 acres of natural environment that has gone through significant changes over the years and is now an excellent representation of the Niagara Escarpment features.  Once a recreational facility with camping and swimming, the grounds have been replanted, the pool removed and the area is now an award winning wetland used to educate the public on the importance of wetlands.  Terra Cotta is alsohome to the  'Chase the Dream', motorcycle ride and show.
